Eagles Finish the season 3rd place at the NCISAA State Championships

What was intended to be a return to the 2 day, 36 hole Championship format, turned out to be another one day, one round 18 hole tournament, due to the excessive rain that came through southern Guilford County on Tuesday May 14. Playing at Jamestown Park GC, Round 1 was played on Monday May 13, under wonderful conditions of a light cloud cover and temperatures in the mid 70's. Day 2 was a whole different story, as the early tee times, got started at 8:00am when it was already moderately raining. The rain continued throughout the morning and as Caldwell's line up got going the rains started to intensify. At approximately 10:00 am the skies opened up and heavy rain began pooling on the greens, which sent the event into a delay as the course was deemed unplayable. After a delay of nearly 2 hours, and more extreme, heavy rains on the radar headed into the area, the NCISAA determined that round 2 would be cancelled and the event would contested based on the Round 1 scores only. This result placed Caldwell in 3rd place for the 2024 Season Championship. Caldwell's team score was led by an 8th place individual finish for Daniel Norris who shot a 74. Also finishing strong for the Eagles was Freddy Ortmann who was tied for 14th individually with a 76, and Grayson Smith whose round of 79 was good for a tie at 24th in the individual standings.
